Perfect guacamole

It comes to the point whereI have to explain myself.
Why guacamole girl? ...............Why not?
I love cooking (& eating of course) & Mexican food is high on the popularity list.
Homemade guacamole is so much nicer than shop-bought & it's so easy. My tip is: squeeze half a lime into a bowl & THEN mash the avocado into it. This stops the avocado going brown. Also, the avocado has to be really ripe & squishy or it just doesn't work.
The real question is - should you add chilli ?
My globe-trotting sister says no. She reckons real Mexican guacamole is just avocado & lime, (seasoned with salt & pepper) to cool the chillified burrito, but creativity rules, so I do chilli it a wee bit.
As they don't say on Brainiac - Do try this at home!

Well sis, you've played a trump card there. Creativity is indeed much more important than 'how it should be done'. And putting chilli in stuff is rarely wrong anyway (unless mum's going to eat it) so go for it! Same applies to random Christmas decorations and throwing tinsel at stuff - woohoo!

For me, proper guacamole has a bit of cumin in it and DEFINITELY some chile and chopped tomato...although whatever way you make it homemade is infinitely superior to shop bought! Thank goodness for Tesco value avocados! Will try lime in future as usually use lemon. Thanks for the tip.
